Easter is upon us, and for many this religious holiday is an important time for family and, of course, chocolate. But take a look around the world and you’ll find a mix of fun and strange Easter traditions. Water-fights, costumes and parades; this religious holiday has some fascinating cultural twists.
We take a look at five Easter traditions that caught our eye.
Aanarav Sareen has achieved a lot. He is the co-founder of PaLaCart and Pollen, two of the world’s leading e-commerce platforms. Prior to this Aanarav was the lead creative technologist at Wunderman, a WPP company and the world’s largest digital agency. He’s authored two best-selling books, is a frequent contributor to the Huffington Post and has been featured on ABC News, NBC News, Al Jazeera English and the Wall Street Journal as a leading expert in interactive media.
In between all this he’s visited over 30 countries across 5 continents, pursuing landscape photography as he goes (all photos featured here are his!).
Aanarav truly is a living example that career and adventure are not mutually exclusive. We caught up to pick his brain on how he makes this work.
Stretched across the Equator, Indonesia is a year round destination for beach getaways. The famous island of Bali gets a lot of deserved attention, with floods of tourists lining its beaches and packing its hotels. But Indonesia is a nation of over 17,000 islands, and with 8,000 of those occupied there’s so much more to discover.
And Indonesia wants you to see this. Recently, the Indonesian government announced a ‘10 new Balis’ campaign to encourage tourism outside of the island hotspot.
Deserted beaches, waterfalls, cliffs and coral reefs are seemingly endless is this diverse and enigmatic country. We’ve done a little look into five islands to get that adventure started.

Austin is in the midst of SXSW, an annual festival of film, interactive media, music and conferences. It’s an event where you can catch a keynote speech by Elon Musk before heading to a music festival featuring rapper Action Bronson, as well as everything in between.
Look around and you’ll also discover SXSW’s home of Austin to be a fascinating place in of itself. A city renowned for its live music and distinct culture, it has more recently undergone a change as new demographics move in and the unique social fabric of the city changes. The result is a city that moves between its old and new, with every resident holding their own opinion on exactly where Austin is heading.
James Whiting is a man of many talents. Photography, journalism, skating and running; there’s a lot that keeps him busy. As a photographer he’s worked extensively in his hometown of Melbourne, documenting the day-to-day with a keen eye that knows how to look a little deeper.
Recently, this work has taken him internationally to projects in L.A, travelling there on four separate occasions in 2017.
We caught up with James to hear his thoughts on travelling as a creative, how that influences what he looks for and where it’s taken him.
