206 Xinle Road, Xuhui District
The Xinle Retreat is the often busy flagship branch of this staple popular Westernized chain. The 'retreat' version adds a little extra in the way of tranquility and even adds a VIP love nest. It’s fairly consistent and offers the full and broad range of massages & beauty services. Everything from nails and foot massage to waxing and all-over massage. Massages here are not as brusque as the average walk-in Shanghainese foot rub place. Dim lighting, calming soundtrack and pleasing aromas are the order of the day at Dragonfly. The treatments are good, solid and nothing too fancy - the prices, in comparison to some of the city’s more premium offerings, reflect that. They have quite a few locations dotted across the city, with each one being fairly consistent. The retreats are a great way to relax after a long day exploring. You may want to book a few hours in advance to ensure you get the service you want as the locations downtown are often busy.
